Our story

Excellence Since 2003

Founded in 2003 by Emmanuel Stern, Garage Pistop is an independent, multi-make repair garage with two workshops in Geneva: in Paquis and Satigny.

Emmanuel Stern grew up between London, Western Europe (France, Belgium, Spain and Italy) and Uganda (East Africa) before settling in Switzerland to study automotive mechanics. He excelled in his studies, obtaining his diploma in electromechanics in 2002 with the best results of the canton of Geneva and winning numerous distinctions: the award of honor of the Council of Geneva State, the award of excellence of the Association of the Awarded Mechanics in Automobiles (AMAD) and a special award from the Swiss Professional Union of Automobile (UPSA) in recognition of his continuous efforts and achievements throughout his curriculum.

At just 24 years old, straight after graduating, Emmanuel founded Garage Pistop. In 2004, to stay at the cutting edge of a constantly evolving profession, Emmanuel enrolled on the Federal course, a programme offering the highest level of mechanical and diagnostic training available today in the Swiss automotive industry.

Following his graduation, the Geneva School of Mechanics offered him a part-time teaching position. At the end of 2010, wishing to devote himself entirely to the development of his business (opening a second workshop in the city centre), he stopped teaching but continues however to be a member of the panel of experts for the finals exams for candidates to obtain the automotive CFC (Federal certificate).
